House of Theophylacti

House of Theophylacti responsible for producing at least 7 Popes in the 900-1000s and through other lines various Anti-Popes and subsequent Popes. Allegedly Pope Sergius III had an affair with Marozia and produced Pope John XI (on the chart) but there is no definitive evidence for this so I didn’t show the connection. Also Pope Benedict IX is the only person to become Pope multiple times and he took the office three separate occasions. Wild family and history definitely enjoyed linking them to a larger chart (they connect back into the Carolingians and Byzantine Families if you go back far enough).

The Last time two living Democratic Presidents transferred power was 1857

Franklin Pierce to James Buchanan.

While both FDR (to Truman) and JFK (to LBJ) did have Democratic Presidents as their successors, they both died while in office so the fact stands. Every other Democratic President had been followed by a Republican. Crazy to think it’s been over 150 years.

Restore Roman Empire Achievement Not Working?

So was going for the Restore Roman Empire achievement today and was able to take the decision to restore it but the achievement didn’t come up? I’m Catholic and held the HRE and Empire of Italy titles.

Not sure this is related to the Byzantine Empire title being destroyed (Crusade got to it)

Checked all the duchies and counties and nothing should be missing? I have Palestine, Tunis and Malta all under my control or vassals. Not sure what the issue is. Any help is appreciated. First time I restored Rome and I don’t want all my work wasted

House of Este Highlights

Often I see people doing charts with famous kingdoms such as England, France, Spain, Portugal etc. Too often people forget about or ignore the “Minor” European Houses in Germany and Italy which in their own right at times held as much influence and power as kingdoms did.

A good example is the House of Este (based in Milan, Este and Modena). In my massive project mapping every dynasty in Europe that held a Kingdom Title or higher I’ve been stumbling across “Minor Houses” that actually have proven majorly important as “connector” houses linking major branches of the continent into one small tree.

This relatively unknown house was connected to the Kings of Great Britain, France, Hungary, Welf Dynasty, Medici Family and the Papacy. They also are ancestors of the current Jacobite Claim on the English Throne.

Not done mapping the House of Este yet. Needed to take a break but so far it’s had a massive impact on my project and I encourage other people to map these lesser houses in their own projects due to the potential connections you can fit into your own tree. I’m surprised I haven’t encountered a close Habsburg yet for the Este but I’m assuming I’ll reach one by the mid 1700s to 1800s.

Enjoy :)

“The Modern USA Vienna”

For years there has been an image of Vienna in the early 1900s showing figures such as Hitler, Freud, Franz Joesph, Stalin and Trotsky all in the city at the same time from 1913-1914. These figures would go on to have major global and cultural impacts around the world.

So I found this of Chicago in 2000-2001 which I found similarly interesting. Granted as with any large city this is probably more common than we all think, yet it is still interesting to look at all things considered.

For Reference the Ages of those shown in 2000-2001:
Barrack Obama: 38-39
Pope Leo XIV: 45-46
Kanye West: 22-23
Jesse Jackson: 58-59
Milton Friedman: 87-89

Interesting most of these figures had not yet reached their major levels of game with Kanye right at the start of his major rise in popularity. Friedman would die shortly after in 2006.

Popes & Royalty

Currently have a on a massive European Family Tree Project connecting all the different European Monarchies together (the main goal is to link every single monarch since Charlemagne that held a Kingdom title or higher).

However I’ve also taken interest in famous people, religious figures or iconic figures. Some notable connections are reaching some early U.S. Presidents, Winston Churchill, and the Popes listed here which leads me to my question.

Besides the Popes I have mapped can any others be definitely linked to major royalty? Connections on the next few slides for the ones I have mapped. Was wondering if I missed any

How Washington, Churchill, Windsor & Patton Families are all connected.

Recently been working on a massive European Family Tree and have been able to even get to major U.S. figures! Here is how George Washington, George Patton, Charles III and Winston Churchill all connect to each other.

Potential CK3 Mod: 527 AS

As the title says I am doing some basic planning for a potential CK3 Mod (using an old map before the expansions that added East Asia). Trying to keep it as accurate to 527 (the year Justinian the Great took power) but want to be as detailed as possible with the mapping. So far this is what I got. I am planning on doing my best to map Anglo-Saxons vs Romano-Britons/Welsh (who dominated much of Britain at this point) and the Christian Berber tribes right now. Also India I think can be mapped better.

Anyways I welcome any advice as I try to work on this. Open to opinion and criticism!

Avenge Tours issue

I’m 99% sure I know what I messed up on but still want confirmation.

Was going for the Avenge Tours Achievement.

I managed to completely take Southern France but I hadn’t fully taken Iberia yet (had like 3-5 countries left) and I hadn’t ended the struggle yet.

Took Avenge Tours decision thinking I’d just go back a mop up the rest of Iberia and end the struggle. When is did end the struggle no achievement.

Basically what I’m asking is. Do you have to end the struggle and then take Tours choice or do just have to control all of Iberia (struggle can still be active) and then take the Tours choice. I’m pretty sure I did the steps out of order.
