Does solar/batteries make sense with cheap overnight?

We’re on Octopus Intelligent Go. Last month we used:
- 900kwh charging two EVs
- 100kwh on house needs at cheap rates
- 200kwh on house needs at peak rates

Does it make sense to get any solar and/or batteries?

Soft prepping?

What can we stock to cover small shortages? What do you expect might be in shortage?

Thinking about repeat prescription medicine (inhalers etc), some tinned food, petrol?

I don’t want to go over the top, I only have so much space and only have so much money for this. But want to get a bit of protection against temporary shortages

Has anyone used Nationwide Finance Limited?

Not THE Nationwide, “Nationwide Finance Limited”. Just wondering and doing some research. Trustpilot doesn’t look trustworthy, so just wondering if anyone has any close experience with them or know anything about them.

I’ve read everything I can find online, except The Times articles which I can’t get through to.
