When will penile spikes disappear after neutering

My cat was neutered 2 months ago however he had one undescended testicle in his abdomen so I had it removed 2 weeks ago. However it’s been two full weeks and I noticed that his penile spikes are still present with no signs of them regressing. I’ve seen on the internet that the present of penile spikes is an indication that the cat is not neutered. When we took the ultrasound I was present and the doctor did not seem to locate the testicle. He also did not print it out or took reference from it for the surgery. Later he told me the had to make a cut on two separate areas because they could not get access to the testicle from the first cut but the surgery was successful after the second cut. So I’m overthinking that too perhaps he lied about finding and removing it.
