can you code a horror ai without behavior trees?

can i code a horror ai without behavior trees its a phycological horror game so the ai wont be seen much and when he is seen he wont be moving he's just going to trail behind the player sometimes and attack him if a bool is true so is it possible or is behavior trees better for this game

Horror loops for UE5

I'm designing a phycological horror game which involves loops, for example, Like in PT where the player is stuck in a room and when he exits he ends up at the rooms entrance. The thing is, in my game i need to make the environment in a way where it can change based on each loop. so loop 1 has a room, and loop 2 has a different room, so how would i code that (in UE5)?

is AI okay for lore? or should i do it myself? I'm not that good at storytelling

For context I'm developing a horror game as a sole dev and I'm horrible at storytelling so would it be ok to use ai for the story part or should i just figure it out?
