Rescued a frog at work. Not sure how its doing or what to do with him going forward.
Hey guys! I saved this little green tree frog from my work. I work at a gas station (QuikTrip) and little bro was sitting in a little hiding spot in one of the gas pumps. Someone sent me a picture of him after I left work yesterday (they know I'm a super frog enthusiast). I came back this morning and he was still there. I decided that I'd save him from the no ethanol pump and bring him home for rehoming if he was still there at the end of my shift.
And, sure enough, he was still there. I scooped him into a cup and brought him home. I'm gonna see if he'll eat some little meal worms later, but for now I'm trying to decide what to do with him.
I own several frogs already. I own four WTFs and one pacman frog. I know froggies have sensitive skin so I'm a little worried that an entire day at the gas pumps might not have been great for him, so I'm kinda just observing his well being for now. Theoretically I could take him in and give him a nice home... but on the other hand I could release him back into the wild - probably my garden outside. Though, I fear that this little chap would get killed out there due to all the predator animals that live in the area. Lots of large birds here.
So what do you think? Once I verify that he's safe and healthy, should I home him with me or should I free him and hope for his survival?
UPDATE: little man (Slim) was freed in my backyard. Unfortunately a gas station is not a good home for a frog and the last bit of nature near said gas station is being destroyed. He'll have a good home with lots of nature here.
