Stories from Meridell Achievement Center
I'm trying to help a friend who might be going to Meridell soon. Decision is pending with their parents and I wanted to get as much information as I can to stop them from going. Other posts are too old to be of any help and it's not looking hopeful unless I can get something new. The reason for the specificity of the questions is these are the things that are most likely to affect the decision.
I want to know what life is like in MAC. Preferably recent (say post 2022 and really post 2024 would be good) stories of what happened there. Anything is helpful though timewise. In terms of what I'm looking for in the stories things like:
What were the rules?
what were the punishments and what were they given for?
Any motivations used that weren't exactly punishment (a levels system for example).
How did staff treat the teens? What was the therapy like?
What effect did MAC have on your mental health?
What was the social environment like?
What kind of drugs were administered and in what dosages?
What do you think MAC did right?
What do you think MAC did wrong?
Anything about Hacienda specifically would be nice.
Thank you in advance for your responses and I am grateful for any responses.
