Upgraded my V2 CC1 with the new Canvas System.
Time: about 1 hour and 10mins to install
Difficulty level: maybe Medium but still easy enough
-> FYI: I've have no Problem taking about electronics and have taken my CC1 V1 partially apart so i am very familiar with the process itself.
-> You need 4 different bits, cables are finicky to remove and are easily broken, so take your time
-> instructions( i used the booklet) are simple enough but aren't perfect so always read everything and look 2-3 steps ahead to avoid unnecessary actions.
-> Since i installed the Canvas on my V2 CC1 it already had the port at the back, this means no need to open the bottom of the printer to install the extender as far as i can tell, did it anyway since i already had it open 🤷🏽♂️. (Edit): was informed the extender swaps cable connections, so i take that back, install the extender.) But this means i didnt have to install the included port itself so i don't know what the steps are for that, (didnt look to be honest if that's included in the booklet)
->Updated the firmware from 1.1.29 to 1.4.46
It restarts itself but i had to shutoff the Printer once before it actually took the update and showed the new canvas options in the interface.
Loaded up 4 rolls, did a bed level (always recommend after a hardware Upgrade) and a test print with no issue.
Started a new print with a near empty roll of white matt pla and a half full roll of the same filament, i wanted to test if it would automaticly switch the rolls which it did with no issues.
Also updated the Elegoo slicer, also with no noticible issues so far
So far no issues, and i started to design a Top Cover that also uses the now unusable Glass Top. Will upload the files when its finished for anyone looking for Alternatives to whats already out there.
