I was gifted this Verve 3 recently. Is there anything I should upgrade or fix?

I've rode it about 25 miles so far with no issues. I was confused because I thought it should have disc brakes but has rim brakes. It also looks like those tires aren't even made anymore.

Theres a Trek store near me, but I haven't rode in 20+ years so I'm a total noob.

The stained glass window in my 1902. Do you think it was crafted by the builders or a homeowner?

Unfortunately the bottom half, with the same design, is seriously damaged. It bows out to the point you can't even open the window.

How are Dayton PD in regard to biking on the sidewalks?

Me and my kids are getting into biking, and I know by law you're supposed be in the road, but holy fuck people go fast on the streets. We were going down Wilmington last night near Hospice and there's no way we'd go on the road.

But I'm just trying not to get a ticket with my kids.

Any advice or tips I should know here?

I found all my original wood shutters from 1902. Are there any practical uses for them?

26 of them in various sizes. They look nice but they're pretty gross. I'm debating just throwing them all away or seeing if a local reclamation company will take them.

Be careful when selling a home. Scammers trying to open home equity line of credit/personal loan on old, sold property

This has been plaguing me for months. Started with emails from multiple finance companies asking me to "complete the application" to get approved. Some were big names.

Then the calls came. 20+ a day. Half were AI.

I finally started answering them and simply saying "I do not own this property or any other property" and hanging up. That helped for about a month. Now it's back.

Anyone else dealt with this nonsense? It's focused on my old property and supposedly the amount the new owners owe. How my name is associated with it now when county records show I sold it, I can't figure out.

Edit: Spelling.
