United has to be much more clear with their policy when it comes to access to Star Alliance lounges. I have the United club card which should give access to the maple leaf lounges if I’m in Canada and yet it’s hit or miss. I had no issue with accessing a lounge in Toronto but in Montreal was denied access.

The entire purpose of the card is to access a lounge regardless of status and yet that’s not the case. Very confusing and a waste of time and embarrassing to be standing at the desk trying to show the policy on United’s own website and still get denied.
