Genshin devs are replacing this big beefy robot design (pic 1) with a more "marketable" feminine maid robot (pic 2 & 3) now that the character piloting them is playable and I fucking hate it.
Long story short, this little girl character called Sandrone has always been associated with her big robot companion that acts as her servant and fight for her since 2022. But fast forward to mid 2026, when she's becoming playable soon, they decided to replace this hulk bot with a feminine robot maid instead because he's "destroyed" in the lore.
FUCKING WHY? HAS GENSHIN NOT HAVE ENOUGH FEMININE MAID CHARACTER ALREADY? HOW THE HELL HAS THE CATERING TO THE MALE FANBASE GOTTEN SO BAD THAT WE'RE MAKING THE ROBOT MORE FEMININE IN ORDER TO SELL MORE NOW? I'M A FUCKING GUY AND I WANT TO PLAY BIG STRONG DUDE, LET ME PLAY AS STEAMPUNK HULK.
And no, I don't give a FUCK if there's a "lore" reason for why he is being replaced and why the replacement has to take a more marketable form. Stupid idiots would tell you that he's "very hard to replicate" meanwhile the girl piloting him IS ALSO REBUILT in the story after her death and her new form basically looks the same as her old form. SO WHY CAN'T THE SAME LOGIC BE APPLIED TO THE BIG BEEFY BOY AS WELL?
And look, I'm not saying that "big robot and little girl companion" is a revolutionary design choice (Bioshock, Penny Parker, Pragmata,....) but for Genshin it might as well be because this game is allergic to big strong characters, but I never imagine that even robots are not safe from their dogshit choice.
