Countrymen’s Bierhall?? 🥺

Driving past today, I saw a bunch of, “For Rent” signs in the window. Did the restaurant / bar close down??? 😩 I just had wings there a month or so ago and they were SO GOOD. I’ve been dreaming of going back ever since (super poor full-time student, so eating out constantly isn’t an option).

Anyway, anyone know what’s going on there??

No, it is not “illegal” to be a Democrat and register as a Republican 🤦🏻‍♀️

I did a post in this group many moons ago, encouraging Moscovians to register as a Republican (whether or not they were actually Republican) because many of the state races ARE going to be won by the person with an ‘R’ next to their name, so if you only vote in the general elections, you basically don’t get a say in who your state reps are.

I had peeps back then and then again today when I posted my thoughts on who to vote for as a Democrat voting on the Republican ticket, say that it was “illegal” to be a Democrat in reality but to be registered as a Republican so you can vote as a Republican in the primaries.

😳🤦🏻‍♀️

First off, this kind of stupidity makes my head hurt. How on god’s green earth would someone be prosecuted for this “crime”? How would anyone even know that you were doing it? It’s literally impossible to be prosecuted for this “crime”. I just can’t with people some days.

But beyond just my say so, I wanted to share this article by Idaho Ed News: https://www.idahoednews.org/ballot-beat/unaffiliated-voters-can-choose-which-primary-to-participate-in-on-may-19/

Here’s the money quote from the spokesperson for the Idaho Secretary of State:

>In a Republican stronghold like Idaho, Parris said a lot of the outcomes are determined in the GOP primary.
“We know that a lot of voters, whether they’re Republicans or not in true practice, they do affiliate as Republicans, so they can be a part of that primary,” Parris said.

So no, it is not “illegal” to be a Democrat who is registered as a Republican so you can vote in the closed Republican primaries. You may not like that this is happening, but I also don’t like what bills the Republicans are passing at the state level, so… 🤷🏻‍♀️

Here’s my quick reminder that if you are NOT AFFILIATED with any party, you can go to the polls TODAY and register as a Republican and vote in the closed Republican primaries. Polls close at 8pm. Go vote, please! 💙🇺🇸

Democrat registered as a Republican & don’t know who to vote for today?

Here’s a quick and dirty (only addressing contested races):

Governor: Brad Little
Reason: I hate this guy but I hate Mark Fitzpatrick even more, and polling has Fitz in second place. Fitzpatrick literally thinks the world is flat. (I wish I was joking…) At least Little knows the world is round 🤷🏻‍♀️ We can’t afford to fracture the vote for Little and end up with Fitzpatrick…

US Senator: Joe Evans
Reason: He’s the most centrist of the group. Website: https://idgop.org/candidate/joe-evans/

US Rep District 1: Joseph P Morrison
Reason: Go read this guy’s list of policies. He could literally be running as a Dem. https://morrison4id.com/issues

State Senator District 6: Lori McCann
Reason: Dan Foreman is a Trump stooge; Lori is slightly more centrist Website: https://lorimccannforidaho.com/priorities

State Rep District 6 Seat A: Cindy Agidius
Reason: This one is like being asked if you want to die by firing squad or poison. Both of these asses are awful. I have half a mind to leave this one blank and let the gods decide.

HTH!
