My latest Campaign story hook... what do you think?
You're walking... you haven't decided where to yet, but you need something. Maybe it's a change of pace, an adventure, an escape, or your looking for something special or specific. Either way, you notice as you walk, a THICK fog rolls in. It gets dark, but not in a way that's scary. It feels like a warm, foggy night, which, maybe wouldn't be so astonishing if it were normally like this. No, SOMETHING feels... different. Still you walk. Then, you notice others, also just walking, just as confused, but unafraid. Before you can strike up a conversation with anyone though, a large building looms up out of the fog. It appears to be on stilts at the very edge of a MASIVE swamp. It main entrance and a large portion of it's porch is dominated by an enormous skull of what appears to be an alligator... maybe even a crocodile. Though, you have never seen one so massive. It's about then you notice the sign above the skull. The Gator's Maw Tavern.
Inside, you are met by a strange man. Tall, gaunt, almost broodingly handsome. He gives a lazy smile and a gentlemanly bow before saying, "Hello and welcome. Kick off your boots and stay a spell. Hospitality is my bread and butter, my dear gentlefolk. Take a seat anywhere that pleases you and tell me what brings you out here to my humble Tavern. If any of you happens to be interested in a little work, do please tell me. I have SO MANY tasks that need tending, and only so many hands."
