Us customs Memphis- how long after providing paperwork?

I've sent urgent parcel from UK to US. It's personal items(meds)! that are super urgently required. Parcel arrived in Memphis on Saturday and says commercial invoice required. I unloaded a pro forma (even though I handed one to pickup driver and on the parcel). Speaking to FedEx US customer service just now it could take between 1-30 business days for customs to deal with. These meds need to have already been there, they're urgent!
Anyone got any insight into the 'typical time' taken by customs in Memphis to review again the parcel. If parcel isn't sent soon the recipient will no longer be at that location which further complicates matters. Ie if people say hey from experience the earliest is gonna be 5 days etc.... I asked FedEx and they couldn't say.
