FREE giant 5-metre Intex unicorn island [UK] - just cover courier + sturdy box

Anyone here want an enormous Intex unicorn party island? It’s the 5-metre one.

I’m an inflatable collector but downsizing things I don’t have room to use. I inflated this once indoors and realised just how impractical it was for my home. Never touched water, carefully deflated and folded back into its bag. Its brand new.

It would feel wasteful to leave it sitting unused, and selling it is awkward because it weighs about 20 kg, so I figured I’d ask here. Would be nice for it to go to someone who’ll enjoy it and look after it.

  • The unicorn is free.
  • You pay the shipping cost and a sturdy box , I’ll agree the total with you first.
  • Postage only, no in-person collection. I’ll book the courier to collect it from me.

If you’re interested, let me know. UK only for now because of the shipping weight.

Having a niche collection that people easily stereotype

I’m autistic, and some inflatables hit a very specific visual thing for me. What I love:

  • shapes and character designs
  • colours and finish
  • huge scale and presence
  • nostalgia and rarity

I’m pretty selective about what I buy. Every so often I’ll inflate one, enjoy seeing it properly for a while, then carefully pack it away again. To me it feels similar to collecting plush or retro toys.

The difficult part is sharing something I genuinely enjoy with other people. “Inflatable collector” can quickly get associated with furry stuff, fetishes, hoarding, or being childish. Those communities are separate from my interest, and I don’t judge them.

I’d actually like to be able to share this part of myself normally. Mention a cool find to a friend, show someone a favourite piece, have one inflated at home, or just talk about the hobby without immediately worrying about what label someone might attach to me.

I’d especially like to hear from people with other niche hobbies or collections that tend to get stereotyped or misunderstood.

How did you get comfortable sharing it with people in your life, and how do you handle the assumptions that sometimes come with it?
