Guerilla tree maintenance

This poor oak was being strangled by years-old ties. I cut off as much as I could with the tools I had, and hopefully gave it a few more decades of life.

I started with a pic of the finished product first but it was too pretty to bury. I used 4 peonies of similar size to the one in pic 2. I made a tea and let that steep for 24 hours. I added lemon juice to get the tea to turn pink. 4 cups of sugar and a package of pectin later I’ve got jelly

Edit: I tasted it and it’s floral with hints of peach first and then strawberry. It’s almost like perfume. My wife hates it and I think it’s really good. She also doesn’t love peach.
