I'm fostering my friends axolotl
Hey everyone, so a close friend of mine is in a shitty situation. Basically her garbage ex boyfriend kicked her out unexpectedly and she's having to move in with family, but needs someone to foster her baby axolotl until she moves back in town.
One of the biggest issues is that he's ONLY allowing me to grab the axolotl, not the tank, not the equipment, nor any of the cycled filter media inside the filter so I'm having to do a fresh cycle with the axolotl in the tank. I have experience with fishkeeping (salt and fresh) and reptiles but not axolotls so I'm looking for any and all advice. He's going into a 20 gallon bare bottom tank and I'm planning to get PVC as decorations/hides.
Any advice is welcome but I'm mostly looking for info on keeping a tank cool in Florida, and also cycling the tank with an axolotl in it.
