I’m mid Silver rank playing G Golem and find it really funny when people proceed to battle without reading my cards

G Golem is an archetype with Crystal Heart as its focus, a 0 ATK monster that buffs EARTH monsters it Colinks with. It’s always paired with Invalid Dolmen or Dignified Trilithon, giant walls that protect themselves while Colinked. Unable to best over the big walls, my opponents think they’ll just take out Crystal Heart instead.

However, they didn’t read and see that Dolmen and Trilithon both say that they must be attacked if possible, meaning my opponent is now trapped in the battle phase unable to do anything but crash into my Dolmen.

It’s really funny to watch.

Cheap Deck Suggestions for New Players?

Hi guys, I started this game awhile ago and tried to build a HERO deck but my god was that expensive. Ended up using up all my resources and didn’t even get a playable deck so I stopped playing before I even got started :/

Anyways any suggestions on what I can build cheaply? I have 2800 gems and probably quite a few cards I can dismantle to get more. My end goal is to still make a HEROs deck because of nostalgia and I always found cyber dragon decks to be interesting.

I want something competitive enough to at least get me to Plat ranked.

Random:
Any tips or suggestions are always welcomed. :)
Haven’t played Yu Gi Oh in nearly a decade.

Master Duel needs a serious overhaul: weekly tournaments, 2v2s, global chat/clans, better events, more game modes, anime + card Solo stories, modern challenges, more collaborations, better animations/customization, and stronger Z-ARC/Odd-Eyes/Dark Rebellion support.

Underdeveloped mechanic: trigger effects which trigger after the card is resolved

We have a lot of effects in direct response to the effect/card activation like "if a card is activated: negate/destroy/etc" but i find it rare when konami does it differently.

The recent and probably the most famous example is Fenrir which banishes after the monster effect was activated in a different chain link.

Why i think that it's really interesting is that it provides a different way of thinking and interactivity. This kind of disruption let's the opposing player to actually resolve a card and progress into the game a little bit and think in one step ahead. It's like a complete opposite to something like a counter trap negate which directly blanks a card.

It's like Solemn Judgment vs Torrential Tribute: one just blanks a card and the other lets your opponent to possibly activate a trigger effect on summon and advance in the game further.

Gorz is an another example of that. The attack had already gone through so you don't nullify the battle but in exchange you get a powerful (for that time) effect. It's like both players had advanced into the game in a sense.

A possible con or a problem with these kind of effects may be that if you take a lethal damage then Gorz doesn't do anything (imagine you drew him for your last card with low LP or smth).
So if a critical effect had resolved then your response had to be meaningful? And that's why Fenrir doesn't just pop a card but banishes face-down to compensate for that.
Droll has aged terribly but it's an another example of a powerful effect after the resolution.

But i think it doesn't need to be like that? Maybe we could get and archetype that triggers after the resolution but just pops a card. It may be powerful enough if you balance it in a different powerful way in a sense, like a non target pop or something or a good grind game etc.

But another possible problem may be is what is called a decision paralysis? Imagine staring at the board with a lot of possible responses (just like modern yugioh is rn) but also think in a whole chain link in advance. Like constantly thinking in a step ahead instead of a direct response. Might be confusing.
(on another note: that's a probable reason why konami keeps making floodgates and negates - because they are simpler to understand and think about in a moment to moment gameplay)

Is Shaddoll worth the investment? Or should I just hoard my gems for another upcoming pack? Do you guys have a hint on the next upcoming packs?

Which HEROs actually matter today?

I have no idea how to interface with this archetype.

I've been playing this game for a few years now and I've never come across an archetype with this many options. It seems like the HERO deck is an amalgamation of multiple "sub archetypes" of HEROs and the "packages" people run are incredibly varied. With the vast amount of support this deck has you can elect to run a full 60 card deck or cut some packages/non-engine and run a list closer to 40 cards.

Because of this I don't actually know what defines a "standard" list. I want to build this deck but I feel overwhelmed with the prospect of choosing which cards to craft.

Can anyone help me understand which HERO cards actually matter today?

Why does the Warp-Speed Toys pack have 9413 cards in it?

I looked up the list of cards that warp-speed toys is meant to have, and it had a very small list of almost exclusively speedroid cards. I then opened 10 of this pack, and somehow got Masked HERO Dark Law? and Gold Pride - Eradicator? So I checked the list of cards that are supposedly included in this pack, and it seems to list 9413 cards, as if it's a master pack or something. Sure, my bad for not checking the card list in-game and googling it instead, but why does this pack have over 9000 cards in it?

Edit: solved, it seems weird to me that it works that way but ig ¯_(ツ)_/¯

How’s my Phantom Knight deck so far now?

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice. Just wondering if there’s any generic cards I should be running now. Rank-Up Spells. XYZ monsters. Really anything that supports any XYZ deck

Found a random card in my room, wanna build it
