Noob needs help with smooth landings on controller

Hey pilots.

Loving career mode so far, but I need to rack up some smooth landings to move up. Any pointers you can give me? I use a controller.

I have about 30 missions completed, but only one landing that has qualified as smooth on the review (it was 94% 😳.) Since then, the best I have done is 14%.

I've improved on getting lower speed coming in, but never seem smooth enough with the yoke once over the runway. Maybe more flaps earlier? What should trim be set at, zero?

Maybe it's just finding the sweet spot with the left stick and holding it. I will do the trainings for landing again under the initial license.

Anything helps. Thanks in advance.

First year umpire, softball and baseball, JV HS ball so far.

Thought I read somewhere that two bags was the proper uniform, either NFHS or my state's guidance. It has seemed like overkill in the limited number of contests I've officiated so far (had terrible luck with weather). I have a JV BB game in two hours. I'm going to try one bag on my right (dominant side) for extra balls and the brush. Indicator in my left front pocket, notebook in back pocket.

Also, might be rocking the jacket this evening; currently 51 degrees in the sun.
