Warehouse finds

They restocked some long-sold-out items yesterday after cleaning their warehouse or something to that effect - some sold out really quickly (eg, the CAPs in Konbu, Kludde MPL22 in black), but a few things are still up.

They have a few of the Konbu totes, yellow MPL22, and several TB22 left as of this post.

Waterfield 48-Hour Travel System

Very expensive, but looks like a thoughtfully designed product… for folks considering the canvas option, I think the weight is actually 3.5 lbs, not 5.5 lbs (just in case 5.5 lbs scares you away as it initially did for me).

Anyone picking this up?

Khyte thoughts?

I know it isn’t a new bag, but some people like me may be getting them for the first time from the latest preorder, and it’d be fun for folks to share their thoughts on the bag.

Here are a few of mine:
- It’s smaller than I thought (in a good way). I was worried it’d be too big for my EDC (I can fit my stuff comfortably in a 16L bag), but it thankfully looks fairly svelt when not packed out

- I don’t like mounting the Notch tech pouch on the outside. I bought one to do just that, but I won’t be doing that because the bag kind of sags out due to the weight of the pouch, and I also prefer how it looks without it hanging on the outside. I guess I’ll be using the Notch as another tech pouch, as there are hip packs and slings that I prefer.

It’d be fun to find something smaller to hang on the Arkiv rails eventually, like for a phone or water bottle or something

- I’m undecided on the stock strap vs. deluxe messenger strap… I like the stability of the latter, but it’s probably a bit overkill as I drive to the office (yes, you can argue the Khyte is overkill in general)

CAS1 (OD Green)

Just got mine today and really dig it - it fills a niche as being sized perfectly as a pocket reliever for me, which I especially wanted in the summer when I may have untrustworthy shorts pockets for my cell phone(s) and AirPods or no pockets at all.

The last pic is vs. an Aer Day Sling 3 Ultra, which I love for travel but is generally a bit too big for my day to day. I’ll probably end up removing the green hi-vis patch currently on it - also got the patches today and was curious how it’d look.

CDT24 Konbu

This is a nice tote, and the magnetic closure works better than I expected (saw a lot of reviews complaining about the bag constantly closing on its own). The handle magnets also work well on my tote; I had seen some reviews complaining that the magnets didn’t work at all or came undone easily.

I would have liked an official solution for a crossbody strap (I know there are workarounds). The straps are also a tad longer than they probably have to be and make it difficult for some to hand-carry without it touching the ground; it works for me but not for my 9”-shorter wife.

It also would have been nice if the drop-pockets on the front panel were a bit bigger; my caseless iPhone Air *just* fits, but my wife’s Pro Max doesn’t. It would also have been nice if they added a magnet-enclosure to the back drop-pocket on a bag that has so many magnets already, but these are minor quibbles.

The Konbu textile looks great in-person! I do have a Corgi though, so it may not be long before I regret the choice as it looks like it’s a fur/lint/etc. magnet.

Initial thoughts from warehouse moving sale purchases?

I received a CPL16 X-PAC and CAP2 the other day, both being my first exposure to Evergoods backpacks and pouches (yes, I’m very late on Evergoods - have primarily been an Aer/MW/Rofmia guy up to this point), and was curious if there are others out there with thoughts about gear they purchased during the recent sale.

On the CAP2, I really dig the design and am looking forward to using it as a desk caddy.

Regarding the CPL16, I was taken aback by just how heavy it felt when unboxing it! I’ve used many backpacks in its weight range before, but I guess none around this size… it feels even denser than a Rhake LS that I recently picked up, and honestly it has made me appreciate the Rhake more for just how comfy it is.

Still, I’m looking forward to using the CPL16 as an EDC with simpler organization and a smaller form factor than most other bags I’ve tried over the years, and I can see why it has its fans.

Any other thoughts, especially for folks who grabbed a CBB22?

High mileage and damage reported on the Carfax - apparently it’s minor cosmetic damage related to the Lamborghini door hinges. They’re going to replace with OEM hinges and fix the damage before sale. I’d also consider an extended warranty given the high mileage.

It’s tempting though for the price relative to its MSRP; any red flags that scream “stay away?”
