Big leak affecting water supply for some of Liverpool

Big leak affecting water supply for some of Liverpool

My water is running at a dribble in L8 and a friend of a friend on Prescot Road near the leak has for no water supply at all.

You can check if it affects you here https://www.unitedutilities.com/emergencies/up-my-street/

Might be worth grabbing a couple of big bottles of water if you’re in an affected area. Fingers crossed it gets fixed soon

Can you cook? If so, how well? If not, how come?

For context: since needing paid carers, I’ve been surprised by how many can’t cook.

I always ask about cooking in a meet and greet because it’s an essential part of the job. About 50% of people say no they can’t cook. Of the ones I take on for shadow shifts, about 75-80% can’t actually cook beyond making freezer food (and some even struggle with that).

I’m not talking about complex/gourmet cooking. I mean things like boiling/steaming vegetables, making sandwiches, boiling pasta, cutting vegetables for salad, reheating things on the stove etc.

The most complicated things are following recipes for things like spag bol but I never start with that.

It’s really surprised me that the percentage is so high and it’s made me wonder if that’s indicative of the nation in general or not.

Care is obviously a role that often includes cooking so I’d expected most people to be able to cook at least a little, but it seems to be a real struggle for most people.

So do you cook? If so do you think you’re a good cook or are you more at a freeze food level? If not, is there any reason you don’t and what do you tend to eat on a daily basis?

CORTIS put on an autism friendly concert. My inclusive kings

A concert where it’s just songs on repeat? Finally, a kpop group that respects my autistic need to loop songs until I’m sick of them and they physically hurt to listen to. I wasn’t interested in them before, but now I have no choice but to stan. Can’t believe all the awful ableist criticism against them when all they wanted to do was make autistic fans feel included for once 🥺

Anyone else have the Scientologists at their door today?

Had this put through - thought it was the Jehovahs Witnesses at first and then spotted L Ron Hubbard’s name.

Didn’t know we had Scientology in Liverpool!
