Benvenuta (“Welcome” in Italian) is the result of a collaboration between Letizia Iacopini (Tenpen), Stefano Costantini and Salvatore Matrone (Leonardo). The pen was manufactured by Leonardo and a limited number (25 pens) were fitted with the 14k “Wellcome” nib that were manufactured in Bologna by the same nib factory which produced nibs for Omas, Columbus and Nettuno in the 1940s.

On her website, Letizia adds “They (nibs) are marked “made in USA” because in Italy at the time a foreign origin was perceived as better quality … but then they stamped the word “Welcome” with two “LLs”… which is funny and typically Italian! The spelling mistake of the name “Michigan“ is another funny feature how poor the knowledge of English (…and geography) was at the time in Italy.”
