We went camping in Big Bend last weekend. Koko would like everyone to know that he is far too cute to be left at home, even with a full time babysitter, and we are not to have any plans this weekend.
Just sharing this silly picture because I love his goofy little cross-eyed face so much. He and his sister were yelling at me because they wanted to go out in the backyard.
Sometimes he feel the need to check to make sure I washed my hair properly.
Just saw one of our area shelters post that they have a pair who have been in the shelter for a month. If anyone is in Central Texas and looking, they are a beautiful pair at the Bastrop shelter.
And it captured his whole attention.
It's a good thing they are easy to keep clean because these two LOVE getting in the water.
I know nothing about fossils, but I think this is a fossilized oyster shell? I find them occasionally along a local creek. No idea if they are actually local or came in with a load of rock. I just thought this one was particularly complete, so I took a picture.
Their mean old dad left them outside for 45 minutes in the mostly shady yard with plenty of water. They are still unimpressed. It was 87 today. In September I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get them to go outside to pee. Completely different than our last girl, who enjoyed baking herself in the sun like a potato.
Also celebrating a win that I left them loose in the living room today for almost 3 hours while I ran errands and they were perfect angels. They didn't even steal anything from the cat toy basket. (We celebrated our 3 month adoption anniversary last week, so this is a milestone.)
Duke and Daisy got a bath today, and then we went on a brewery visit to practice our chill and show off the fluff.
Duke is actually wearing the same harness as Daisy but he's so damn fluffy you can't even see it.
I heard the sirens earlier but I did not get any notice from the city alert system. My husband just left for work and said it looks really bad.
Hello! We recently adopted this pair of troublemakers in February. Duke (male, merle) and Daisy (tri, female). We previously owned a blue merle mini named Chloe, but she passed in 2024 at the age of 15.
We live in Austin, Texas, and now that the weather is heating up, it's clear that these two are much more susceptible to the heat than Chloe was. Duke, in particular, acts like he is allergic to the sun and follows the shady spots across the yard. I bought them some harnesses for long lead work and for riding in the car, but we noticed yesterday that they seem to hold in too much heat. We've got another 6 months of 100 degree weather coming, so I need to keep them as comfortable as I can.
Does anyone have recommendations for hot weather/minimal coverage harnesses that they love?
