The spark plug wire on cylinder # 1 keeps popping off while I’m driving. Back in March, I replaced all the spark plug wires and plugs. At first, I thought I had a defective set of wires, so I replaced them again with another brand new set along with another new set of spark plugs. Unfortunately, the problem still persists.

Just in the last few days, it happened while I was slowly driving to my local grocery store, again while backing into my driveway, and then this morning while going uphill at WOT.

At this point, I’m at a loss as to what could be causing it. Since I’ve already replaced both the plugs and the wires twice, I don’t think either of those is the culprit. The wire clicks securely onto the spark plug, and the boot fits snugly into the spark plug well, so nothing feels loose during installation.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas what else could cause a cylinder # 1 plug wire to repeatedly pop off? I’m hesitant to take her on any long drives until I get to the bottom of this ongoing issue.
