I am losing my mind so I’d appreciate any help. For the past months my hair has had a funky smell, it’s not outright disgusting but it smells weird, like a wet rag cloth. Does anyone know the cause or how to fix it? I’ve been using ketoconazole shampoo and it didn’t help at all and now i’m using a perfume free gentle shampoo from a pharmacy but the smell persists. Also it only smells when it’s wet/damp, when it’s dry it smells normal.

So I just got a ketoconazole shampoo and from what I’ve seen, I am supposed to use it twice a week. I only wash my hair once a week though so I’m not sure on what I’m supposed to do so I’d appreciate help
