Mame cotoneaster in fruit

One year on from last time I posted this tree. Like a little fruiting apple tree!

Is this a reasonable quote?

Quoting for aircon to be installed in kitchen/orangery, and for kitchen/orangery and 1 bedroom.

Option 1

INDOOR UNIT/S LOCATION
Bosch Climate 5.3 kW - To go on the back wall.
OUTDOOR UNIT LOCATION
Bosch Climate 5.3 kW - To go on the left hand side of the house, mounted higher than the garage.

Total £3,745.00

Option 2

INDOOR UNIT/S LOCATION
Dining room - Bosch Climate 5.3 kW - To go on the back wall.
Kitchen - Bosch Climate 3.5 kW - To go on the arch way/boxing on the opening.
Bedroom - Bosch Climate 2.6 kW - To go on the outside wall
OUTDOOR UNIT LOCATION
Bosch Climate 8.2 kW - To go on the left hand side of the house, mounted higher than the garage.

Total £6,995.00

I had in my mind roughly 2k per indoor unit, and this seems on the expensive side. The second quote bizarrely adds another unit in the kitchen which when they surveyed said wasn’t necessary!

Taking on debt before remortgaging

We currently have two mortgages with our lender for our property, one of which we ported. The ported one is due for remortgaging at the end of the year, and the other in just over 2 years, with the plan to combine at this point.

We are keen to do some home improvements (solar +/- heat pump and AC) which would require taking on some additional debt. We are financially comfortable to do this, but our mortgage is at the top end of what was available to us, I’m concerned additional debt might spook the lender.

Is this an issue for the lender, or is it less important once you’ve purchased the property and have shown to be reliable in making payments?

Would appreciate any views! Thank you

There might be a heatwave in the UK, but the trees are thriving

Temps of 36-37C here in the UK so needing watering 2-3 x day. Might need to invest in a shade cloth, but they do sit in shade from a tree from 2pm onwards.

How have you managed sustained high temps?
