Experimenting with more battle damage on my iron warriors but feel like it could look better. I’ve made some scratches and craters in the armour and on the chainsword but slightly unsure how to paint them, advice appreciated
Newest member of my Iron Warriors, spent a bit more time and effort as he’s a character model and happy with how he turned out. I think I’m getting better at plasma OSL with no airbrush but advice on how I could elevate the end result is welcome
This is probably the fastest progress I’ve made on an army before and I’m loving my iron warriors so far
So far I’ve done:
5 legionaries
A venomcrawler
5 terminators
5 cultists (not based yet)
5 havocs, 5 cultists, a Warpsmith and 2 obliterators left, currently watching a chaos rhino on eBay while saving and planning for next purchases
Always looking for ways to improve, thinking about adding more weathering at some point possibly but happy with my paint job for tabletop standards
Hope sharing this can pass on some of inspiration and motivation I’ve been blessed with
Finished 5 legionaries, got 5 terminators and 5 havocs left to meet my 50 model pledge by Saturday
Happy with these for a decent tabletop battle ready standard but may revisit to do more weathering maybe highlight some more minor details I got away with just base coating
First time using pigment powder any tips for basing with it appreciated as I think I could get a better result from it
Less than a week into my iron warriors army and want to know the best way to acquire heavy/melee weapons to fully kit out my infantry.
So far I’ve half painted my venomcrawler, built 5 legionaries and almost finished 5 terminators with all the war gear I want. I don’t have all the weapon options I want for my next 5 legionaries though (I’m after a hammer, a fist and maybe a reaper chain cannon or something that can count as).
I also want to buy another box of havocs for more lascannons to kit out a full squad with them. However not sure what to do for my second havoc squad as there’s only one auto cannon option per kit, any suggestions?

I’m thinking of buying the Iron Warrior combat patrol and currently am putting together a venomcrawler to try a paint scheme. I also have Vashtorr painted but was thinking of repainting the armour panels to make him fit in.
I also want kravek Morne and a defiler eventually but would appreciate some advice for building my force beyond that, or people’s favourite units for iron warriors.
Does anyone use mechanised terminators with a land raider? As was contemplating that as an idea, and are people’s armies more infantry or vehicle/monster heavy?
