The only way I could describe Colleen's content is GROSS
YouTube just recommended Colleen's "Making Flowers with Pipe Cleaners" video to me. I knew who Colleen was because of all the ukulele incident and the drama youtubers I follow, but I'd never actually watched any of her content before, and I'm honestly appalled.
In that video, she's oozing what I can only describe as contempt for her children. She seems completely over the whole skit, and her attitude reminds me a lot of Ruby Franke's vlogging style. I clicked on another video, "Saying Goodbye to the Miranda Wall and Becoming Friends with Crows," and the difference is striking. Even though she has the same low-energy demeanor, she's almost glowing while reminiscing about her "glory days" and taking the Miranda merch off the wall. It's nothing like the misery she seems to project whenever she's around her kids.
I'm honestly so disturbed by these two videos alone. Her intro is a sweet little song in the style of a children's show, presumably sung by one of her toddlers, but the content is clearly NOT for toddlers. It's just so weird. The aesthetics and overall structure make it feel like it's aimed at children, yet the vlog is about this weird 40 something year old woman nostalgically fawning over merchandise from her sick Miranda character, whose whole "appeal" was being a little girl inadvertently putting herself into sexual innuendos she didn't understand.
The whole thing feels sick, twisted, and malicious in a way I can't even fully put into words. It just feels profoundly wrong and gross.
