Is it really acceptable to lose to a 123 OVR team with a 128 OVR squad? Because this is getting ridiculous.

At what point are we supposed to accept that this is just how H2H is supposed to work?

I have a 128 OVR team. I have spent money on this game. I’ve upgraded my squad, ranked players, trained them, built a team around the players I actually want to use — and yet I’m sitting here struggling for 9 stars after three weeks.

Not 10.

9.

And today I lost to a 123 OVR team.

Before someone says “OVR doesn’t mean everything” — I completely agree. A lower OVR player can absolutely beat a higher OVR player if they’re better at the game. That’s not my complaint.

My problem is how the match actually feels while it’s happening.

Players suddenly feel completely different. Passes that should be straightforward don’t go where they’re supposed to. Players don’t make the runs they normally make. Defenders react late. Balls bounce back to the opponent in ridiculous situations. One match my team feels responsive and sharp, the next match the exact same players feel like they’re running through mud.

And then there are those games where you can almost feel the momentum shifting.

I’m not saying every single loss is “script”. I’m saying that when the game repeatedly produces situations where player responsiveness, AI movement, rebounds, passing and defensive reactions seem to change dramatically during the same match, it’s extremely difficult to believe that everything is behaving consistently.

And that’s the frustrating part.

If I lose because my opponent is better — fair enough.
If I make a stupid mistake — fair enough.
If my opponent has a better tactical setup — fair enough.

But I want to lose because I played worse.

Not because my 127-rated players suddenly can’t complete a five-meter pass.

Not because my defenders randomly stop tracking runs.

Not because my striker ignores a perfectly obvious through ball.

Not because the opponent’s players seem to win every ridiculous rebound for ten minutes straight.

And definitely not because the game suddenly feels completely different from the previous match.

I’ve tried 4-3-3 Holding, 4-3-3 Defend, 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow, 4-4-2 Flat — basically everything I can reasonably build around my squad. Sometimes one formation works brilliantly, then suddenly it feels completely useless.

That’s not competitive gameplay. That’s exhausting.

EA, I’m not asking you to make my 128 OVR team automatically beat a 123 OVR team.

I’m asking for consistent gameplay.

If my opponent is better, let him beat me.

If my players have better stats, let those stats actually matter consistently.

If the game has momentum mechanics, explain them.

If there are known H2H balancing systems, explain them.

If there are bugs affecting passing, player switching, AI movement, rebounds or responsiveness, fix them.

Because spending money on the game shouldn’t mean spending three weeks fighting the gameplay just to reach 9 stars instead of 10.

At this point I’m not even angry about losing.

I’m angry because I don’t know whether I actually lost the match or whether I was fighting the game itself.

And that’s a terrible feeling to have in a competitive game.

Where is the balance supposed to be?

I’m not saying a 128 OVR team should automatically beat a 123 OVR team. A better player should absolutely be able to win with a lower-rated squad.

But then where is the balance?

If OVR isn’t supposed to provide a meaningful gameplay advantage, why should players invest in upgrading their squads at all?

And if OVR does matter, why can a 5 OVR difference sometimes feel completely irrelevant — or even feel like the lower-rated team has the advantage?

I’m not asking for a guaranteed win based on OVR. I’m asking for a consistent relationship between squad quality, player attributes and actual gameplay.

What exactly are we being rewarded for when we build a 128 OVR squad if the gameplay can make it feel like we’re playing with a 123 OVR team?

Hey EA is that normal??? 😤🤯

EA FC Mobile is becoming a rage game, not a football game

I’ve been playing EA FC Mobile seriously for a long time, and I’m currently running a 128 OVR team. I also spend money on this game.

I’m not saying that because I believe spending money should guarantee wins. It shouldn’t. If my opponent is better than me, I lose. Simple as that. I have absolutely no problem with losing a fair match.

But what is happening with H2H gameplay right now is becoming genuinely frustrating.

Over the last two days, I played 15 H2H matches, and this post is based on what I experienced across those games — not one unlucky match or one rage quit.

The problem is that far too often, it doesn’t feel like I’m playing against another player.

It feels like I’m fighting the game itself.

Passes going somewhere completely different from where I aim them.

Players taking an eternity to respond to an input.

Defenders suddenly refusing to react to situations they normally handle easily.

Completely ridiculous rebounds repeatedly falling straight back to the opponent.

Player switching choosing the worst possible player at the worst possible moment.

Attackers ignoring obvious runs.

Players suddenly feeling dramatically slower, weaker and less responsive than they normally do.

And then there are those matches where a significantly lower-rated team suddenly wins almost every physical duel, every rebound and every 50/50 ball, while my 128 OVR players behave like they have forgotten how to play football.

And before someone says “skill issue” — no.

There is a huge difference between being outplayed by another human being and losing control over how your own players behave.

I can accept losing 5–0 because my opponent completely destroyed me tactically.

I can accept a better player beating me.

I can accept making mistakes and being punished for them.

What I cannot accept is making the correct input and watching the game produce something completely different — and then being expected to accept that as competitive gameplay.

I don’t need to win every match. I don’t even expect that.

What I expect is for my inputs to matter.

If I make a good pass, let it be a good pass.

If I make a bad pass, punish me.

If my opponent makes a great tackle, fair play.

If my opponent outplays me, he deserves the win.

But don’t make me spend an entire match wondering whether I actually lost to my opponent or to the game’s own mechanics.

And this is especially frustrating when you’re actively investing money into the game.

Again: spending money doesn’t mean I should automatically win.

But if EA expects players to continuously invest in a competitive football game, then the absolute minimum expectation should be consistent, responsive and reliable gameplay.

Instead, H2H can sometimes feel completely different from one match to another, despite using the same players, formation and tactics.

So I have a simple question for EA:

Why doesn’t the game consistently respect the player’s input?

If this is all intended gameplay, then explain it.

If it isn’t intended, fix it.

Because right now, the biggest problem isn’t losing.

The biggest problem is not knowing whether your decisions actually matter.

EA FC Mobile has the potential to be an incredible football game.

But right now, far too often, it feels like a rage game wearing a football game’s skin.

And after 15 matches in two days, I’m honestly exhausted from fighting the game instead of fighting my opponent.
