"Just be thankful it's free" is exactly how mobile games die.
I’ve seen some people posting that we should "stop the witch hunt" and "just be thankful the game is F2P friendly because events are free." This corporate mindset is exactly how games get ruined.
First of all, saying "it has nothing to do with monetization" is completely blind. One player literally posted today that they spent real money to prepare resources for this advertised event, only to find out they were silently thrown into the 3% excluded control group. That is straight-up anti-consumer scamming.
Secondly, saying "Reddit posts won't change anything" is historically wrong. Did everyone forget the Gold Pass overhaul? Supercell tried to gut it, the community rioted on Reddit, tanked the app ratings, and forced management to completely revert the change and make the pass even better. Vocal backlash is the ONLY thing that works against greedy spreadsheet managers.
Missing out on a massive progression boost while watching 97% of the community pass you by isn't "overblown drama." It distorts the economy and punishes dedicated daily players for being randomly unlucky.
Stop telling people to be grateful for a broken system. If we don’t call them out now, tomorrow your Home Village Hammer Jam will be an A/B test too. Hold them accountable.
