Why are there no tournaments for casuals???
Hey guys, I have been playing for a while now (pushing Gold 2 but am grinding my way to Plat) and I love the game! It's really fun to play and I love how there is new content out every now and then, keeping the game fresh and alive (I need to dive a bit more into Jin Dynasty but for now it is English and French for me).
My one quarrel is that there seems to be NO tournaments for casuals at all. Yeah we all loved the Homestead Cup (how amazing was that?!), but why does nobody organize low-level tournaments?
I have looked everywhere. On Liquipedia, only bigger tournaments with a prize pool are mentioned, but I don't even care about a prize pool really, I just want to experience a tournament. Be part of something fun. Feel like a pro for a day. You know, things like that.
I also asked ChatGPT but that didn't go anywhere because the AI doesn't even play the game and asked me if I wanted to play LEL? But what does this have to do with League of Legends???
And on top of that, not only are there literally NO tournaments for casuals, but there also are even less 2v2 tournaments!! I get that 1v1 is the most common tournament format for AoE, but COME ON, 2v2 is so much fun, too!
What now? You are saying that there ARE weekly tournaments for casuals? Where you can even win coaching by esteemed players like Askallad, Not_A_Beaver (or NAB as he is called in the streets), and even by MYRIAD?
THAT'S RIGHT! Rising Empires is hosting weekly tournaments for anybody up to Conq (1550 elo), split by brackets, with weekly changing map pools, and a coaching raffle for all participants finishing the group stage!
AND ALSO to celebrate the birthday of one of their favorite admins, Rising Empires is hosting a 2v2 tournament for 3 brackets on May 30th:
Lower Bracket: team average Elo <1200
Upper Bracket: team average Elo 1200 - 1500
The Warchief Club: team average elo 1500+
Start time: 15:00 UTC (2h earlier than the regular LEL events), Check-In opening 1h before

For this Special Event, Rising Empires is adding a small prize pool for the Lower and Upper Bracket (20$ for each 1st place team, 10$ for each 2nd place team). The winners of The Warchief Club prize pool will be increased to match our regular TWC prize pool (so each individual player still receives the same expected prize).
We'll also of course run a regular 1v1 tournament this weekend (May 23rd) too:
Bottom Bracket: Ranked Elo <1100
Mid Bracket: Ranked Elo 1050 - 1350
Top Bracket: Ranked Elo 1250 - 1550
Start time: 17:00 UTC, Check-In opening 1h before
