Would you rather AoE:V Be Colonial Again (Like AoE3), Ancient Again (Like AoE1), Online Again (Like AoE Online), WWI/WWII, apocalyptic, or 100 to 1,000 years in the future?

I'm bored and curious.

Feign all in as French then pivot to age up and relics ?

I have tried this but it doesn’t feel that good , maybe the French just can’t manage well with this strat ?

Even if I get 4 relics I feel like I give the other player too much space

I guess I don’t know which civs this is a good option against and which a bad one ?

I’m a lowly gold haha . Got up to plat 1 last season but haven’t played as much this season so Gold still

[MOD RELEASE] "Civilization" Game Mode for AoE4 — Inherit Entire Bases on Elimination, Neutral City-States, 5 Alliance Types & New Caster HUD!

Hey everyone, I just released a new custom game mode mod for AoE4 called Civilization. It’s built mainly for 6–8 player FFA and Nomad matches, focusing on dynamic diplomacy, neutral objectives, and base inheritance. You can grab it for free right now in the in-game Mod Browser. Showcase & Guides:

Main Features

1. Base & Villager Inheritance

  • When you eliminate a player by killing their King or Landmarks, you take over their entire base (TCs, production buildings, surviving vills).
  • Inherited buildings re-skin to match your civ’s architecture (unique landmarks disappear).
  • Anti-rage-delete mechanic: If someone spite-deletes their vills within 3 minutes before dying, those vills are restored and handed over to you. 2. Neutral City-States (Marcher Holds)
  • Neutral settlements spawn around the map (findable directly through the UI).
  • Patronage: Invest 100 Gold to build Influence. Top patron gets allied passive bonuses.
  • Conquest: Take down their Town Center to choose one of three rewards:
    1. Vassalize: Receive regular military reinforcement waves.
    2. Capture TC: Claim it as an extra working Town Center.
    3. Raze: Instantly plunder 450 Wood and 450 Gold. 3. Dynamic Diplomacy (5 Alliance Types) You can form bilateral treaties with other players or AI:
  • Economic: Get 1% of your ally’s total building value per minute (e.g., a TC yields 4 Wood + 3 Stone/min).
  • Military: Your units gain +0.1% HP/Damage per 100 resources of your ally’s standing army value.
  • Science: Tech discount based on what your ally has already researched.
  • Trade: Trader movement speed boost scaled by your ally’s trade network size.
  • Religious: Passive gold generated from your ally’s relics and sacred sites.
  • Spying: Spend 100 Gold to reveal an opponent's army value, building score, and current tech. 4. Custom Victory Conditions & Pickups
  • Relic Victory: Stashing the required relics in your monastery starts a global countdown timer (visible on the map like a Wonder).
  • Sacred Site Points: Accumulate points continuously (600 / 1200 / 1800 targets) without sudden timer resets.
  • Treasure Chests: Early-game resource caches scattered around the map for scouts to contest. 5. Caster & Spectator UI
  • Compact / Extended layouts: Real-time RPM, active TCs, landmark status, and relic counts.
  • 8-Player scaling: Clean top bar formatted specifically for large lobbies.
  • King Under Attack alert: Player cards flash red when their King takes damage so casters don't miss kills.
  • Chat replay: In-game player chat is recorded and visible to spectators/replays.

How to Play

  1. Open AoE4 -> Community Mods.
  2. Search for Civilization and click Subscribe.
  3. Host a Custom/Skirmish lobby, select the Civilization game mode, tweak your settings, and start. Let me know if you run into any bugs or have balance feedback. Would love to hear your thoughts or see any recorded matches if you host one!

Possible Raiders of the North release window

I’m no expert, but I spent some free time looking through the information that is publicly available because I wanted to get at least an estimated timeline for those of us who are excited about the DLC.

Steam currently lists Raiders of the North for Q4 2026, while World’s Edge has described it as coming in Fall 2026. Taken together, that makes October or November seem like the most likely window.

I also checked several regional Microsoft/Xbox Store pages using the same method that revealed the September 22 date for AoE2’s The Viking Sagas. So far, I haven’t found anything similar for Raiders. There is still no exact date, price, or preorder information showing publicly. SteamDB also continues to list it simply as Q4 2026.

The other thing I looked at was previous AoE4 fall DLCs. The Sultans Ascend released on November 14, 2023, while Dynasties of the East released on November 4, 2025. Because of that, my personal guess would be early to mid-November 2026, probably somewhere around November 3–17.

If I had to rank the most likely dates based purely on the current information and previous AoE4 release patterns, I would put November 10 as the most likely, followed by November 3, then November 17. November 24 would be possible but less likely, and I think an October or December release is less likely than one of those November dates.

Very roughly, I’d personally put it around 35% for November 10, 25% for November 3, 20% for November 17, 8% for November 24, and 12% for any other date. Those percentages are obviously just my own estimate, not anything official.

This isn’t a leak or insider information. I just wanted to see if we could get a reasonable estimated timeline from what is publicly available.

If anyone has found something I missed, especially from regional storefronts, interviews, SteamDB, or non-English sources, I’d be interested to hear it.

Has Beasty retired?

Been away for a while but I'm subscribed to him on YouTube and I saw the title of one of his streams is "helping prep for egc". Is he not competing anymore?

Improvements/additions to aoe4stats.com

Thanks to everyone's awesome feedback, I added some sections to aoe4stats.com. Please let me know if you come across any issues or have additional comments:)

  1. Civ WR by Map now shows how favored and how specialized each Civ is.

  2. Pick Rate vs WR shows sleeper and overrated Civs.

  3. Landmark Path is a wizard that takes Civ, Map and opponent Civ as inputs and shows your highest WR landmark path.

I hope this is useful to the community!

Make Quick Match q's short again!

This is a general call to every player of Aoe4! The Quick Match Q needs you!

We have lots of fun maps, more /3 and /40 and waaay more map bans than Ranked.
So don't be strangers.

Which civs benefit the most from increased pop tuning packs?

My buddies and I always play on 400 max pop or more where we normally go late into imperial age and I got curious as to what civs this may benefit/nerf in comparison to others.
We are still very new players so it would always just end in us doing multi hundred large armies of each civs best units but I'm looking to get better and wanted to make sure I wasn't neutering myself with civ choice in the future

I’ve finally reached it

Hi !
I’m super proud to say I’ve finally reached plat 1, all those hours watching pro games helped so much (jeando gaming et palissade de ruon si vous passez par la gros bisous c’est grâce à vous et tout les cast/video)

So I’m ready for next season and hopefully get higher
I’ve wanted to share that with other players haha

On a more serious matter I’m looking to still improve so if anyone has any tips or recommendations to climb the plat I’m listening, or more funnier, tell me why I’m bad at aoe4(in game pseudo: Elibrirluinwe)

P.s : I know plat is not good compare to many people but it’s a lot of hours(around 400) I’ve loved playing and it’s still an achievement

Is there a website that shows how many hours of gameplay for each game mode ?

I know two websites aoe4world and aoe4stats both give good information but the hours of gameplay is always the average. I know that I can maybe calculate and give estimation alone but I told myself since there are several websites related to aoe4 maybe there is one that I don't know.

How to know which Templar unique units to choose?

The Templars have the largest number of unique units per name, an each age you advance you have three units to choose from- vaguely like the minor god system in Age of Mythology.

But I cannot for the life of me ever figure out which is the most optimal route to use.

I always choose Hospateller Knights- it seems logical because they can heal everyone as we go. But isn't the throwing axeman good? The Chevalier Confrere- what's the point, the Brother Templar is good?

Can anyone break it down?

SCOUT TC TAKEDOWN

Preface: I am not a good player

Today in 1v1 ranked, a Byzantine player took out my (Macedonian) TC with a ton of scouts and villies.

Is this a new meta?

Thanks

How do you play Golden Heights?

You’re close to each other so FC doesn’t really work but you also have choke points so aggression doesn’t really work. There are fish but they’re super vulnerable. I just play awkwardly then die.
