Is practicing against the Hardest AI good for routine, or a waste of time?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get a solid routine down and improve my overall gameplay in AoE4. Right now, I'm thinking about spamming games against the Hardest AI to practice my macro, build orders, and get some muscle memory.

Do you think playing against the Hardest AI is actually good practice to prepare for multiplayer, or is it a waste of time because the AI plays completely differently than humans?

Would love to hear your thoughts and how you guys started out! Thanks!

Can someone tell me how/when to use eastern contract for the byzantines?

I can barely find any information about it on here. Also if you know any videos where someone played with eastern contract that would be much appreciated.

Why is the AI just letting me win?

They've got an army, but its just standing there letting my cannons roll up and fire.

Replay Viewing

Is there an easy way to watch replays of other players non-cast games? For example I feel like I am forced to spread across the map earlier than other players. I would like to watch other Ayyabid and/or Delhi games at a non pro level. Is there a way to search for replays like “Ayyabid Diamond” for example?

Separate question but are spearmen a soft counter to Desert Raiders or do many gold players simply not realize they are the wrong counter? (I say this as someone who often builds the wrong counters as a gold player. No shade intended)

Finally, and on that subject, if my opponent is using food/wood units is it a mistake to switch from archers to crossbow? I do this when I am higher on gold than wood, which when I play as Delhi happens often.

I know this is all over but I don’t want to spam my posts

Aoe4 Ai enemy

Greetings and good morning everyone.

Noob here

I have stopped playing Aoe4 for a while now then I returned to it like last month or so and I have noticed something different about the Ai.

Especially the hard difficulty as it wasn't like how is it now. Which is good but I noticed it is becoming annoying more than difficult.

All bots now simply army spam you, either cannon, archers or fucking monks. It is like you have to make an infinite army to drill through their lines and reach their base.

I usually play random civ as I want to learn all.

I just wanna know if people are suffering like me or I'm just being extra noob here?

Rus 2TC vs Pro Scout

Has anyone ever tested the difference in resources gathered between the 2TC and Pro Scout strategies based on game time? In other words, at what point does the 2TC strategy overtake Pro Scout? I’m asking specifically about the Rus since that’s the civ I’ve been playing lately, but I imagine the answer applies to any civilization.

Map hacking in FFA

There seems to be so much more map hacking going on in FFA game's atm . Have found and reported 2 in the last few games. You can see ("GOOODGAME") here clearly map hacking at 0:35. Be wary out there .

Mongolian rework idea

https://preview.redd.it/g4c6b4zfd8bh1.png?width=1275&format=png&auto=webp&s=a96dad7fb1752d760e92fb69bf0db07376030b4f

I've been playing Mongols and Golden hoard of late and saw how bad it is looking for Mongols in metta and fantasy of them. The major problem I see is too many Villages and too little incentive to go wide.

idea in comments

So here is my ideas I have:
1st Ger having radius of 3 so 8x8 harvesting region of food passively what depletes over time needing to move. Overlapping territories having 50% production. These fields last 2min and by imperial you don’t need to move them around as they harvest and regrow self-efficient speed.

2nd make unpacked building visible as idle workers are

3rd remove pastures - they don’t wine with Mongols that great. They seem more like a clumsy fix to the issue of food production for the faction.

Why this game dont have a Auto translator for chats

As the title says, with such a diverse player base, it should be the norm to have translations for chats.

Diamond Team-Game Duo looking to expand into a full clan/premade. All regions welcome!

Hey all,

Three of us here, age 36+, currently Diamond in team ranked (Plat in solo). We've been 3v3 for a while now and honestly we're just tired of the random-queue lottery, so we're trying to put together a proper little clan/premade for team games.

Quick rundown on us: older crew, we actually communicate, we like playing tactically, and nobody's melting down over a loss. I've got somewhere north of 9,800 games at this point (yeah, I know). Mains are HRE, HoL, Sengoku, Delhi, OotD and French. We also record/stream some of our matches, so there's usually decent banter going.

What we're after:

Roughly Plat/Diamond so we can queue together comfortably

25+, someone who wants to win but keeps it chill

Any region or timezone is fine as long as we can talk in English and actually find times that overlap

If random teammates bailing mid-match is wearing you down and you want in on building something solid from the ground up, drop a comment or send me a DM with your mains and Discord tag.
