Formation buttons

Do formation buttons actually make a difference. I've seen videos of people making their troops line out but what about the flying duck or social distancing ones, they helpful or a bit of a gimmick?

Maintenance packages

Hi, looking at leasing our first EV, we've found a deal we're happy with but the company is suggesting £50pm for a maintenance package. I've had leases before but never leased an EV, I was under the impression that EVs require less maintenance.

Over a 48 month term, the maintenance would cost around £2,400 in total. Seems a bit steep.

What are people thoughts and experiences with this please? I.e. should I take out the maintenance package or just take it to her serviced myself.

Sengoku Daimyo

Anyone got any good/fun SD game plans they'd be willing to share? I've been very up and down with them recently, partly because I can't decide how to be play them.

Typically my opposition are KT, Macedonian, French, Malian or English (just an observation).

HOL help please!

I've had a look through previous posts and watched videos online etc but wondering if anyone can share some HOL wisdom.

Switched to HOL recently and just not playing very well with them.

I seem to do alright in feudal, got the build order down and manage to make a load of units.

What seems trip me up is my opponent just turtles, hits FC then comes out swinging with an army that's better than mine even though I have the numbers. My units just don't seem to trade well e.g. spears, Yeomen, hoblars. I go from having a 30-50 strong army to nothing in a few minutes.

By this point it's pretty much game over as I scramble to try and get to castle.

From what I've seen/read HOL seem to be pretty strong as at feudal all ins or at least some early feudal agro.

Beasty says in his recent videos that 1 TC is more than enough, so been sticking to that. Tried 2 or 3 TC a few times but didn't seem to help.

Is HOL's army just weaker than other civs once in castle?

Am I just playing them wrong? (From what I've described)

Any tips for army composition early on and then into castle?

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Someone typed "PTYUA" to me mid game last night, been bugging me since because I can't for life of me figure out what it means... Claude (AI) came up with "Press Tab You'll Under Achieve" 🤣
