Should've just given me exact change

Delivery driver. Laughed at this with my manager as he was clocking me out and told him I "really needed" that penny. Honestly I would've been happier with ZERO tip.

New driver in need of advice

I got hired about 3 weeks ago as a part-time driver in a relatively busy college town. I enjoy the job for the most part and have made good tips several times that I've worked weekends. My only problem is the down time in the store. My store managers are really helpful and chill about any questions I have when it comes to stuff like this, but when there's nothing for me to do I am conflicted. Other drivers that have been there a while always seem to be working on something, but when I ask if there's anything I can do they tell me I'm doing just fine sticking to dishes, sweeping, wiping tables, trash, etc. I have assisted on the cut table before but usually the insiders on makeline do not need any help. I just don't want to stand around being in the way after everything has already been done. Any advice?
