Is this normal breathing?
A little background… rescued my girl 5 years ago. She was found as a “stray” at a deep camp in MS when she was 5 months, after being lost outside in a record arctic storm. She has bbs all over her body, was severely malnourished, and had Giardia. A few months after she came home, she was treated for heartworms, and had 8 teeth extracted (teeth were broken and infected, likely from bbs). She’s had severe arthritis in her elbow since she was 2. A couple months ago, she was treated for kennel cough, and we did a 2nd round of antibiotics for lingering symptoms.
I’ve watched her sleep for years, but I’ve never noticed her breathing like this, unless she was dreaming, maybe. She seems otherwise fine, but I sent this in to her vet to look at. While I’m waiting to hear back… do your pups ever breathe like this?
