Tithely free tier

Can anyone give me some opinions on Tithely's free tier? I'm the finance secretary for a small-ish church, about 50 people per week, struggling a bit, but trying to build back up.

We're currently using Vanco and Church Windows, which I hate, and would like to modernize a bit.

I asked for software suggestions several months ago and got great feedback, but after looking at all the options given, here's why I'm considering Tithely:

  1. Free. Free would be insanely helpful right now.
  2. Apple Pay and Google Pay. Especially helpful for taking money at fundraisers, like our upcoming community yard sale, where will be receiving funds from people who don't attend the church.
  3. App and online giving. Online currently through Vanco; no app with Vanco.
  4. Tax statements. We currently do this through Church Windows.

So, is there something better that also has a free tier? I can see how we could (hopefully) outgrow Tithely, but it looks pretty good right now.

Thanks in advance!

(Edited for spelling and clarity. And fixing mistakes from typing on my phone. And formatting -- thanks Reddit.)

Weird line break in minipage

I've started doing my church bulletin in LaTeX, and I get this weird line break in a minipage environment (see photo.) This week's bulletin had several instances of it, and I can't get rid of it. Typing from my phone, so I can't give a complete file at the moment, but here's the gist:

\begin{minipage}{\textwidth}
\vspace{1em}% prevent collision with above element
\textbf{Prayer (Leader):}
\raggedright
\begin{adjustwidth}{1em}{0pt}
All the prophets testify about Christ that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.
\end{adjuswith}
\vspace{1em}% prevent collision with below element
\end{minipage}

The text is typed straight through, no breaks in the file. I assumed it would wrap correctly on its own. I'm using a minipage to keep the heading and the text on the same page (\samepage doesn't always work,) but I'd be open to other ideas as well. But how can I prevent that linebreak?

Thanks in advance!

Master source for multiple docs

Background: I want to reconfigure my church's bulletin "system" to make it easier to produce every week. We currently use Word and PowerPoint to make the standard bulletin, large print bulletin, script for the readers, and the slideshow. Copy/paste screws up the formatting more often than not, and the formatting is uneven, hard to read, and just crappy in general.

While I'm sure there's a reasonable fix available in Word, I much prefer TeX/LaTeX, and being able to import music from Lilypond will make that part much easier, too.

So my question: is there a way to format individual files to pull data from a "master" file that includes all the changing variables (e.g. scriptures, hymns, responsive readings)? Then I only need to edit one document. I've seen things like catchfilesbetweentags and latexdb, but I'm not sure if they're designed to work this way.

Or, my other idea was to have everything in one big document with all the variables at the beginning, each format in its own section, and just use block comments to choose which version I want to print.

Would either of these solutions work?

Thanks in advance!

Multiple lines on each phone

Hi all,
I may need to change the title, but I wasn't sure how to fit my question into that space.

I'm the new office administrator for a small church. We have two lines in the office, 1001 - "Receptionist" and 1002 - "Pastor." We can't figure out how to get both lines working on both phones. My phone shows the Receptionist number on both slots, and the pastor's phone shows his extension in both slots, but we'd like to have my number as "line 1" and his as "line 2," and be able to answer both lines from either phone, so for example, if he's in his office and I'm not at my desk, he doesn't have to hobble to my desk to answer the phone.

Is this possible?

Thank you in advance!

Bachmann Baldwin #26 sound files?

As part of my project to collect as many of the locos housed at Steamtown Historic Site as possible, I picked up the Bachmann Baldwin #26 0-6-0. The real #26 is the engine they use for daily train rides, and it's a nice little engine. While my #26 does come equipped with DCC, it does not have sound.

My questions:

  1. Has anyone successfully put sound in one of these?
  2. What decoder and sound file did you use? I can't find a Baldwin 0-6-0 file anywhere. I foolishly assumed that since it's still in operation, someone might have made some recordings of it. From what I can find, I think ESU S0841 for the #165 WP ALCO 0-6-0 might get me kind of close, but if anyone has a better option I'd gladly welcome it.

Thanks in advance!

Steamtown DL&W F3B?

I'm trying to build a layout for my son featuring engines he's likely to see in our area, and especially at Steamtown. In addition to a few other engines, I've picked up the Bowser EMD F3A DLW 663 and 664. I recently learned that the real 664 has a B unit with it (never seen it displayed before,) but couldn't find an HO version with matching livery.

BUT! We went to Steamtown yesterday, and for the first time in the three years we've been going there the upstairs of the Visitor's Center was open, so we finally got to see the huge scale model of Steamtown they keep up there, which includes the 663A, 664A, and 664B! So now I need to know if it was actually produced commercially, or if it was a custom job just for the layout. Am I going to have to paint/sticker a different F3B to match the F3As?

Can anyone help me out with my query? TYIA!

EDIT: Oh! Looking at the layout in person it's hard to make out the numbers on the engines. Zooming in on the picture, these are, in fact, NOT the 663 and 664, but they do exist, and this B unit matches the livery.

Help with Warping & Adhesion

Hello, Hive Mind!

I've been using PHA almost exclusively since BeyondPlastic PHA became available, and am currently using EcoGenesis (new rolls, couple weeks old), on a Bambu A1. My biggest issue has always been adhesion, especially with things like boxes. I've tried thin layers and thick, fast and slow, higher/lower temps, and nothing helps.

I'm trying to print a box for my son's DCC-EX model train command center, and I've had to scrap so many prints in the last couple weeks I'm seriously considering going back to PLA. I really don't like PLA.

I've been using the smooth PEI Cool Plate, and small prints do just fine, but larger flat things fail almost 100%. I picked up two Bambu Super Tack Pro plates, and the adhesion is insane! However, I still had the corners pull up really bad. Basically, anything that didn't pull up seems to be glued to the plates. I tried 91% isopropyl, but it didn't help much, and it's apparently not great for the build plate. Heat didn't help either.

Current settings: 0.2mm layer height, 8 wall loops (0.20mm Strength), Hilbert Curve for everything, speeds are 40mm/s^2 or less, accel. is 400mm/s^2 or less, jerk is 0 (default); Tree (Auto) - Strong, 20mm brim. 0.4mm steel nozzle, 195°; bed at 1°, no cooling first layer, fan 100% at layer 2.

So, can anyone help me with warping, and can anyone help me clean these plates?

Hey all,

I'm doing a quick overnight swing through State College, PA, and since I live in a HBS desert I thought I'd see if State College had anything to offer. Looking mostly for 50-55lb sacks of base malts because they're expensive to ship.

Thanks in advance.
