Throttle hesitation TM40
Hey I’m having some issues with low rpm throttle hesitation on my DR. It has the TM40 pumper carb and runs well when I roll on throttle smooth. However, in the low rpm range there is this hesitation when coming onto the gas or blipping the throttle. It’s like a stuttering nephew until he finally spits out what hes trying to say. I’m new to carburetors so I wanted to see if yall had any tips on where to start.
I backed out the mixture screw (assuming it’s running lean) and it seemed like maybe it helped slightly but I ran out of adjustment room. That’s making me think I might need a different size jet? Or to adjust the clip position on the needle? It has no issues idling and starts right up.
She pulls hard once the engine catches up with my throttle input. I do get some pretty intense deceleration popping especially when she’s fully warmed up or it’s hot out
