I’m currently driving a 2024 Cadillac lyriq tech RWD which I snagged for $315 a month. I have 2 more lease payments remaining but only 250 odd miles left before I start racking up over mileage penalty. Also my CA registration is due mid Sept, about $700 ish. This is non transferable and if I buy a new car I need to pay this again.
Cadillac has a lease pull ahead offer where they will forego up to 4 months of lease payments if I were to get another lease with Cadillac.
So naturally, I tried getting some lease offers of Optiq and lyriq but the best I could find is this offer attached.
Here are the main deal terms :
Vehicle: 2026 Cadillac Optiq RWD
MSRP / Agreed value: $50,320
Lease term: 24 months
Mileage allowance: 15,000 miles/year
Money factor: 0.001600
Residual: 70% = $38,024
Rebate: $3,500
Net cap cost: $48,460.07
Base monthly payment: $573.21
Tax: 10.25% = $58.76/month
Monthly payment including tax: $631.97
Due at signing: $3,500
The $3,500 due at signing appears to consist of:
Cap cost reduction: $1,859.93
First payment: $631.97
Documentation fee: $85
License/registration: $723.75
Upfront taxes: $199.35
To me this is too expensive.
So I’m kinda torn. Do I bite the bullet and get an Optiq and save about $630 in lease payments and $700 in CA registration? Or stick with the current lease and hope for better deals in late Oct ?
