Last call of the day

5 minutes before i finish on a Friday and a call comes in I introduce myself and the company I work for as standard and a guy comes on immediately saying its a bit of a complicated situation, I think here we go. He immediately explains the situation for 5 minutes saying how bad the company i work for is and that he spoke to a dealership who advised they can get a part for his car in 4 weeks as we could only advise it was on back order. He advised he would need to pay 3 grand for the part and he wanted to send the invoice, he was like who do I send it to? I said your insurance, you've come through to the company you've just bitched about for the last 5 minutes. Well why didn't you say so? I did sir at the start of the call 😀 he hung up almost a minute after my finish time. What a beautiful end to my Friday shift.

How you know someone has never worked in a call centre

What are some things people say to you that makes you know they have never worked this type of job or any job for that matter?

Today i had two good examples of this - first customer complained about the tracking link saying its not working, asking me why its not working, I literally do not know why, its either tempremental, the customer just doesnt know how to use it or it literally isnt working which wouldnt suprise me as we get lots of queries regarding it, they get in a hissy fit saying I should know because I work here. Well sure I do work here but if you think I get training on every little thing that goes on you're sadly mistaken. I know we send tracking links but I dont know what it looks like and I dont care, and also I can't track the drivers as a different department who never answers does this.

Second customer kept on going about what is nearby to the garage where she had to take a vehicle in for repair, somewhere in Aylesbury UK and I was like I dunno, I am in Birmingham, then she said is it on the so and so island? and I kept repeating I dont know and she kept murmering unknown gibberish about how long it would take to get to Tesco so she wouldn't need to wait and then asked me if there was anything nearby she could sit and wait, I was like you can wait in the repair centre and then she said can I get a coffee, and I said im not sure probably, she said you should know you work here. OK mam im sitting in a call centre nowhere near you, I dont know if every repair centre we work with has a coffee machine, either sit in the warm repair centre with maybe a coffee or go to tesco.

That's only two I had today but I wonder what others stories are here

I kid you not

I had someone call back to say they couldn't make a payment because our system said to input the long number on the front only they had a card where the long number is on the back of the card 🤦‍♂️ I just can't with these people

Why can't I pay cash or by cheque

I'm 75 and I find it difficult paying my card! Right ok so you can't pay by card which has been around since 1987 a year before I was born and im doing just fine with it, but you find it easier by cheque, isn't paying by cheque more difficult than just inputting numbers off a card. I swear boomers are so exhausting. The guy would have been in his 40s when debit cards were introduced but wants to make an issue out of it because we dont accept cash or cheque.

▲ 11 r/lidl

I have 2 lidls within driving distance where I live and the donuts are both being sold but while one sells the hazelnut chocolate with an actual chocolate base the other one doesn't, why?

Yesterday was bank holiday in UK and despite being open everyone is going to call today, I already dread logging in. Not sure if its just where I work but management asked for overtime today, I refused but they said if we dont offer for overtime for today then we cannot do overtime for the rest of the week lmao has anyone heard anything like that before? It's like some wierd threat trying to convince us to do overtime on the busiest day if not then you can't at all, why would anyone offer to do both. No thanks
