Switching Locations?

Please don't bite my head off lol

I applied to an OST position and finally heard back... expect it's in a state that I can't be in. The background for why is personal, but I also just moved to a new state (where they have different field offices) and was wondering if it would be appropriate to ask if I could switch locations? This is just the pre interview portion by the way. I would rather ask now then fly to the state, interview, potentially get it, all for me to not even be able to work there.

I just signed a lease here and breaking it without any relocation assistance from them since the OST isn't a high position just isn't worth it for me. I would lose out on over 4k. Anyone have any thoughts on how I should go about this?

Thank you in advance!

If you don’t mind sharing, how’d you get your position?

What experience did you have that gave you the edge over? How many years in retail etc?

I’m currently an ASM at Gap Inc. I applied for a lead position at this same store but was essentially ghosted (though I was in the final round). Should I even apply? (I believe in having audacity & delusion… it’s how opportunities come!!)
