Pipe Headboard

I made this to be a headboard that will attach to a pair of adjustable beds (that when combined are California king size).

I’m happy with the shape, and will spray paint it black.

Unfortunately a closed loop design like this is impossible to tighten up so there’s a bit of racking in this which is apparent when you grab on to it (this is my first pipe project).

As a next step I’m going to run a piece of wood under it to screw the flanges into, which should add some stability. Also, the lower cross bar will eventually be strapped to the adjustable bed frames. I’ve seen Locktite suggested, which I’ll investigate as well.
I could also attach it to wall studs, but I would have to redo some of it and was trying to avoid attaching to the wall anyways.

Thoughts?
