9 month old battery dying. Baterihub claims no issue.
Hey guys, I’m hoping to get some suggestions on what I should do.
2013 Honda civic fb 2.0 s
100% stock, no accessories installed
Century marathoner max NS60LS - 15 months warranty
Daily driven, At least 7km x 2 journey every day, some days this week have done 50+ km per day
Got my battery changed by baterihub on 30/7/25. On 7/5/26 the car wouldn’t start, called hotline, waited 1.5 hours for them to come give me a temporary battery while they bring the battery back to their shop to check. The rider said soc was at 38%
During the 3 days we used the borrowed battery, the car started right up and felt powerful. On 10/5 we got our battery back. The battery test before installing on the car shows 12.74v, 353cca, 94% soc and 100% soh. The first startup with our battery was noticeably not as powerful as the borrowed battery.
Over the next few days, I can tell the battery is starting to get weak again. On 16/5, we pumped fuel and started the car, it felt quite weak. We asked the workshop at the petrol station to test the battery, with ac and headlights on, the battery voltage was 13.8v which I assume means the alternator is working fine. They then turned off engine and battery test read 12.76v, 308cca and 44% soh. They also tested for parasitic drain which there wasn’t any. They concluded that it’s battery issue.
10km and 25 minutes drive, we went straight to baterihub, store had no one and the number they put didn’t answer call. After we waited over 15 minutes, we went to another branch, explained the story, they then tested the battery. Started the car with ac and headlights on, battery test showed 11.63V, 287cca, 83% soc, 67% soh. After 10 minutes of the staff telling us no problems with the battery and the engine being on, he did the battery test again and showed 13v, 378cca, 100% soh and soc (while the engine is on). The guy then told us it’s on 100% so it’s good and if can’t start again then they’ll test the battery again. I don’t think you’re supposed to test soc soh when engine is on at the first place. We had places to be so we left, battery still felt weak when we turned off and on the engine at our destination.
Petrol station workshop claims it’s battery fault. Baterihub claims not battery’s issue.
What do you guys think I should do now? Just wait for the battery to die and call them up?
TIA
