Leasing a car for the first time. What to look for?

Driving from NYC to Upstate. 4times/week. What are the most reliable companies to lease from? Should I find one in NYC or in the Upstate? What to look for? Never leased in USA (or anywhere). Dumb girly here. Any advise will be highly appreciated!❤️

Checking different websites, but don't know what to look for and how to not get taken advantage of bc I'm a girl who's not educated on cars (my fault, I know)

URGENT: currently staying in unsafe/unclean hotel. They approved relocation path but Booking.com needs to modify reservation

I’m currently checked into a Holiday Inn Express booked through Booking.com.

We had serious cleanliness issues in our first room and were moved to a second room. Unfortunately, the replacement room also had an empty bottle left in the trash, hair in the bathtub, what appears to be blood/red residue in the bathtub, dirty carpet, someone else’s socks, and a bed that smelled extremely bad.

We then discovered that the bathroom fire sprinkler appears to have plastic wrapped around the sprinkler assembly. I have photos of all of this.

I contacted the hotel directly. They opened a corporate case, documented the photos, and are currently willing to help us relocate to another IHG property. We would ideally move to nearby hotel for the remaining nights.

The problem is that the hotel says they cannot modify the reservation because it was booked through Booking.com and told me to contact Booking.com.

I have had very poor luck getting responses from Booking.com support in the past, and this is urgent because we are currently staying at the property and need to move today.

I am NOT trying to cancel the entire reservation or get a free stay. I need Booking.com to work with the hotel to:

  1. shorten the current reservation/authorize an early departure today,
  2. refund the unused nights if the property authorizes it, and
  3. allow us to relocate without being charged for both hotels.

Has anyone successfully reached an actual Booking.com agent for an urgent in-stay accommodation problem? What is the fastest route?

Trying to contact customer support but to no avail

Hello Booking.com

I am booking via your platform frequently and for a long time.

Recent two bookings have been disappointing.

I documented what was wrong with the room. But nobody responds through the app. When asked a hotel, they referred me to you.

Is there any email for escalations?

Thank you for being active and helpful on here!
