Stray Animals Info Dump
I know there are probably other places for this but I would like to compile all the information on what we should do if we see stray animals around Morgantown. I’m specifically talking about cats I guess bc I have seen just so many around my neighborhood recently and have heard similarly from other people around Morgantown.
Is there someone we can call to inform about these stray animals so they can get safely captured and taken care of?
I know the first step for anyone who is able to capture one of these guy is to take them to a vet to see if they are chipped but… If we catch them ourselves what are good no-kill shelters or places we can take them too.
What are the best place to post pics of these animals in case they are lost pets? I know Facebook has a page, and the Nextdoor app is also used but I’d like to compile all the major places so people know where to go?
Literally any other types of resources or advice of any kind would be appreciated.
I know some people say to just leave them alone but I can’t help but feel so sad when I see these cats outside especially bc our weather here is so random and it seems like there are a lot of pet abandoning happening. I’d like to get as much info as I can and try to make a 1 page doc with all the info anyone could need if they do see stray animals around their area.
