Patient tackled at Ruby

Around 8:20 I was walking to class and noticed 4 police in a full sprint. They laid out a patient and put him in cuffs. Reminded me of Karl Joseph on crisp Saturday, anyone see it or know anything more?

ISO professional dash cam installation

Are there any shops around the area that will install a dash cam correctly I.e. hiding the cords neatly behind trim? Tired of looking at a hanging wire and I don’t have the patience to fool around with it anymore.

Why is this not a 4 way stop (cheaper) or traffic light (best case)

At the intersection of Boyers Ave and Uni Ave, when you turn right off 19 onto Boyers, and have to go straight you literally can't see if you have enough time to go because people fly down the hill coming from Uni ave at what seems like double the speed limit. Not to mention the people who entirely block the intersection doing that turn so you can't go straight through the intersection at all sometimes.

There should really be a stop sign on that side, its already a 3 way stop. Either that or have a cop sitting there 24/7 to catch people going double the limit because you physically can't have enough time to react when they are.

FRIENDS

So I have lived in Morgantown my whole life never was great at making friends and Berlin seeing this Reddit thought I’d try it out. I’m 32 years old I enjoy doing things hunting fishing nerdy things but playing games is where I have some comfort as I’m not great at the whole going out and meeting folks or being around people hahahaha, but I just am looking to make friends maybe gaming friends idk I don’t talk much as I have nothing to say lol and I just am not great at it all. But again looking to make friends.

Suncrest Elementary

Hi neighbors!

Tomorrow is my daughter’s first day of Pre-K. Can I drive to the school and park and walk her to the door? She’s used to the WVU child learning center where I walk her inside to her classroom and I’ve been explaining to her that it won’t be that way anymore, but I just want to walk her up her first day. Sorry I’m new to this 😅 TIA!

Stewartstown Road

To those who are new to Morgantown,

Please drive slow on roads you are unfamiliar with. Put your phones down and pay attention to traffic in front of you. 5 cars in an accident on stewartstown road. This road is not meant to be a racetrack. Please slow the fuck down and pay the fuck attention.

Vehicle Pre Purchase Inspection

Bought a car from Carvana and want to get a pre-purchase inspection done by a reputable mechanic in town during their 7 day return window. Has anyone had one done lately that they can recommend?

I've had most work done on my vehicles by Westover Tire (who are great) and have had incredibly positive experiences with Glotfelty, South Park Service Center (which is under Westover Tire's Umbrella and has since rebranded to a Westover Tire shop too) and Morgantown Express Lube, but just trying to narrow down my search early as I would like to avoid having to spend a ton of time calling around shops in town for quotes and availability.

If anyone has any recent experience with a pre purchase inspection and can recall around how much it ran you, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Roofer Recommendation

I have a fairly new roof but because of a quirky design, ice collects in a spot in the winter and water gets into the house. The original installer tried to fix it twice but it still leaks, and they're no longer operating in Morgantown anyway. I'd rather just pay somebody to fix it for real. Any recommendations for people you've had a good experience with? Thanks!

my top 5 worst & best roads in morgantown as a delivery driver

THE WORST

  1. west run rd between pt. marion and stewartstown.

clearly just the worst road in town. i have a special hatred for this road deep in my heart. too thin, potholes EVERYWHERE, and people tend to hog the road while going 40mph (specifically big trucks).

  1. riddle ave/pineview dr

awful hills that out of towners have no idea how to tackle (20mph the whole way up, brakes on the whole way down). theres one pothole right before a hill that is basically a crater, and avoiding it is dangerous because you cant see oncoming when you're going up hill.

  1. pleasant hill rd

one lane road for the majority of it, potholes everywhere, including a massive crater before you turn onto brookhaven rd. people also tend to fly down it and i have had more than a few close calls because of it.

  1. valley view ave

WAYYY too thin for the amount of traffic flowing through. yielding is necessary but most people will just ignore you anyways. no potholes but some of the storm drains have such a big dip that it makes me float from my seat if i have to go over them.

  1. most of greenbag rd

at least recently, its been incredibly dusty and is constantly under contruction. the weird three way intersection at deckers creed blvd doesnt help either, extremely confusing for new people and full of potholes.

THE BEST

  1. brookhaven rd + tyrone rd

listed both because they lead into each other. just beautiful. not many potholes, easy curves, i can take it at around 45-50mph most of the time. not really a bad part of the road, theres a thin bridge like halfway through the main part but its not a one lane and its easy to tackle if you just slow down a bit. one of my favorite roads to drive down.

  1. dug hill rd

awesome drag strip in the middle of it. its so wide and the speed limit increases for it. i enjoy going out at night and just slamming on it, its incredibly smooth too, i've taken it at 70mph before slowing down heading onto sabraton ave. beautiful scenery towards the end. there is a one lane section but visibility is good and most people will slow down for ya.

  1. earl l. core rd.

the traffic during rush hour is AWFUL, but once you get past the intersection with i68 its a nice smooth drive. not very busy at night and not too many cops so you can fly at times.

  1. hartman run rd

good, smooth for the most part, easy curves, no cops. i can take it around 60mph if its not busy. only knocked down a couple places because of the horrible bumps towards the intersection with mileground.

  1. 705 (at night)

this is only at 5 because of the horrible traffic during the day. at night, its a really smooth and fast drive. there are some cops, but they usually let you go 65mph without too many issues. light cycles are weird but at night they are a little more favorable (if theres no oncoming for a while they give you a free green arrow). its pretty much the main road that i take to get to everything, its nice and central to shopping centers.

these are just my opinions, feel free to share yours. i am a big fan of speed so that influenced a lot of my rankings, i also mostly drive at night so thats a factor as well.

Lifting partner

28m. I’m in need of a lifting partner, it’s so difficult for me to find the motivation to lift by myself. I have a squat rack, bench press, about 200lbs of weights and cardio equipment in my apt. My best friend who I used to lift with about a year ago just moved to Oklahoma yesterday so I need a lifting buddy again. I understand it’s in my apt, that may be a bit of a stretch for some people.

Spirit Halloween opening date?

Anyone have any insider information on when Spirit Halloween on Green Bag Rd will be opening? Their website just says “Opens August” but all other nearby locations are already opened.

The decline of running races here?

I unfortunately stopped running for 12 years. In coming back I was looking forward to some of the old races. I did the Deckers Creek Half Marathon in 2012. There were 563 runners. It was perfect. Wonderful experience.

It's gone. Closed due to lack of participation.

I see there's a half marathon October 31st at The Seneca Center. But last year it only had a little over 200 runners. Which means you're probably just going to be running most of this alone, I think.

The Jim Dunn run had 230 people in 2012. Now it has 80. For a five mile race this again means you'll pretty much be alone except for the start.

Why are things dying?

It looks like you have to travel out of state unless you enjoy a lonely race.

Looking for a PC Technician

Hello, I am looking for a PC repair shop that is reliable. Recently, my gaming desktop (HP Omen 25L w/Nvidia 4060 - bought 2022) doesn't boot. It will cut on (GPU, CPU, RAM, and keyboard) will light up; however, my computer will not boot up and my mouse won't light up like my other hardware despite trying different USB ports. None of my monitors detect a signal and thus I just have blank screens. I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Unplugged power cord and held power button for 30 seconds
  2. Left unplugged for a few hours
  3. Reseat the GPU and tried a different power cable for said GPU
  4. Used different display and HDMI cables
  5. Tried to replace the CMOS battery but it wouldn't come out (I'm afraid of damaging the motherboard and battery compartment)

So I am guessing my motherboard is experiencing a short somewhere because my friend had the same model with similar symptoms. I am way outside of my warranty and hoping to find a good PC repair shop. Any recommendations?

Bad drivers/accidents

Lately I have seen so many accidents in morgantown mostly up on utc and down near the sheetz across from the CVS near street dreamz. I also have had 2 incidents where Ive been literally ran into oncoming traffic trying to avoid someone lane changing and almost sideswiping me. I ask this seriously who is giving the morgantown population driving licenses haha. Im originally from nyc and I thought that was bad.
