Question about True Polymorph

Had a player watch a video from Treantmonk's Temple about True Polymorph. In the video, Treantmonk said the caster could simply end the spell, as you can end any spell you cast. Within the spell itself it states after the first hour where concentration is needed, the spell ends on death or being dispelled. Does anyone know where Treantmonk is getting that you can simpily end your own spell?

Can anyone help with where this is stated?

Sorcerer's Burst @ 17th level

Has anyone run into this with sorcerer's burst critting and exploding 8's doing so much damage? A player in my group hit 4 crits in one battle. Two crits happened when casting 4th Chromatic Orb as it bounced around, hitting 3 enemies. One was for 58 pts, and the other was 49. Then the sorcerer cast Sorcerer's Burst, which hit a crit and, with exploding 8's, ended up doing 89 pts. One round, one he activated Innate Sorcery so each spell attack is rolled at advantage. He rolls with the advantage on dndbeyond so upon a crit and any 8's rolled, it will auto roll and calculate the damage. It's just crazy the damage this guy can do.

Started Reta 3 weeks ago after 8 months on Sema

So started Sema and was on it for 8 months. Started low and slow, and ended on 10mg. I ended up losing about 38 pounds. SW was 228 and finished and started 1mg of Reta. 2nd week my dosage was 2mg, and 3rd week I went to 3mg. I was told that due to being on Sema and used to it that I would probably be fine on Reta but still wanted to go slow but was afraid I would put back on weight. The three weeks have been fine. I haven’t had any issues or side effects. I was also told that after being on it for about a month, I should start seeing results. My plan is for my next shot to move to 3.5 or 4mg and hoping to stop there. I havent had dropped a few down 3 pounds more. No real cravings or anything by the way of side effects. I was getting the Sema for $155 per month no insurance, but a friend found a compounding pharmacy online that she has used for 3 months and it was cheaper. I noticed the company has Reta and wanted to try that one and it was about half the price.
Any thoughts or advice?

Help with a spell mechanic during combact that is being challenged.

During a combat with fiends in Avernus, two Hezrou were prone. A sorcerer in the party upcast Tasha's Mind Whip on both. Each failed their saves. The spell reads as follows: Upon failing its save, creatures can’t take a reaction until the end of its next turn. Moreover, on its next turn, it must choose whether it gets a move, an action, or a bonus action; it gets only one of the three.

The call during gameplay was that on the fiend's turn, they could stand from being prone, but not move, and take the attack action. The player challenged that standing was indeed movement, and if they chose to attack, it should have been while staying prone.

What are your thoughts?
