u/MilwaukeeTool did you guys actually even try this thing out during R&D?

Backpack Vacuum 0895-20 clogs way too easy. Ideas?

I've got the 0895-20 backpack vacuum (the newer model) and while overall I really like the suction and the fact that it's cordless and I already have a ton of batteries to run in it thanks to the rest of my Milwaukee stuff, IMO it has a huge design flaw that lets it very easily get clogged by any larger, lighter debris that might enter it.

I often use it to vacuum our house and I find it easily gets pieces of tissue, packets, etc. stuck on the port between the debris separator and the filter. Add in cat hair from our three cats and it quickly gets clogged and loses suction. I've used a shop vac style vacuum for a long time in our house (hard floors only) due to regular vacuums often getting clogged with this kind of debris, and haven't had a problem on ones that don't have a restriction to try to separate the filter from the rest of the collection canister.

I've tried running it both with and without the flap in place, and short of swiss-cheesing the rest of the filter/separator box with holes or making some other kind of "downpipe" with holes that extends down into the canister that gives the whole thing more surface area to clog up, I don't really have any other ideas.

Was wondering if anyone here has come up with some good solutions?
