Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 32 Ohm Headphones: How Loud is "Too Loud"?

I just recently had to send in my Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphones to Consolidated Sound Services in Massachusetts for repairs. Richard, the head administrator and repair expert, found that, in addition to torn ear cushions and headband cushion (What I originally needed fixed), the speaker on the right hand side was blown! This happened after three years (I got these in 2023 for $100). The repairs were $35, and the parts were $70. Richard was even nice enough to cut $8.50 from the shipping cost, so the total for parts, repair and shipping was $115 even! What Richard said to me was that the right hand side speaker was blown due to bass frequencies in my music being played too loudly through my headphones. That leads to a noticeable rattle in the bass audio. Now that I have them back and they look, sound, and feel brand-spankin' new, I'm trying to figure out, how loud is "too loud"? I've now got my Benji T6 Talking MP3 player at a volume of -20 DB, and a maximum volume limit of -200 DB. My computer's headphone jack is now set at 67% volume. The hardest one is figuring out how loud I should have my Scarlet 18I20 Headphone volume when listening to and recording music. As a sight challenged sound designer, I don't wanna blow my eardrums, and I most definitely don't wanna risk another blown headphone speaker! Anybody have any suggestions for me?
