If litigations are not working, what’s everyone backup plans?

Currently on h1b with my employer. They chose to stop EB3 for multiple reasons. New employer would resume my EB3. But would not do h1b due to the pause from 39countries. I also have active pending asylum EAD for the next couple years. If I accepted the offer, I’ll be on pending asylum status, but they will initiate my PERM process. But I 140 and I 485 processes are still gonna be on pause if this ban is not lifted in 2 years. What are my options.

I’m looking for a duplex for my primary residence. N came across the short sale on Redfin. Is there any pros and cons to it? Does it mean I can ask for a bargain?
