hey all

just went for my first autocross and had a blast, trying to get into it more. running my daily driver, a 330i xDrive, stock M Sport adaptive suspension, with an intake and JB+ for now.

trying to figure out some upgrades and could use some help from people who actually know what they're doing lol.

current setup: 19" Apex SM-10s, staggered: 235 front / 265 rear, Michelin PS all-seasons.

few questions:

1. everyone's telling me summer tires should be my first upgrade. is that actually the move?
2. if so, what's better: dig out my old unused 19x8" M Sport rims and slap summer tires on those as a dedicated square setup, or just run summer tires on my current Apex setup?
3. if I go the old-wheels route and keep the Apexes for the street. Should I go 245/35/19 or 235/40/19? not sure what fits/performs better on an 8" rim. any brand recs?

trying not to splurge since I'm just starting out and figuring out if this becomes a regular thing, just want to get a feel and try stuff without going crazy on cost.

Have been hiking for over 4-5 years now, trying to get into mountaineering now.
Currently, my partner and I usually hike weekly in NJ/NY, or try going on longer trips if further.
