How much do you walk your Rottweiler?

How much do you walk your Rottweiler?

We recently adopted a beautiful, sweet, smart, funny... pretty much perfect, mature girl of 7 years from the local humane society, Sadie. We couldn't be luckier, and we just hope we can help her enjoy at least another 7 years of wonderful life (our dogs have always live long lives, happily). We've had usually 2 dogs at any time for the last 35 years (Sadie's our first Rottweiler, usually mixed breed labs, hounds, etc, always rescues) and found our house suddenly dog-less about 6 months ago. So, welcome Sadie!

My question is how much is the "right" amount to walk a 7 year old Rottweiler? We walk her about 2-2.5 miles a day, once in the morning, once in the evening. She seems to enjoy her walks a lot, and they don't seem to be too much for her. She also has her moments of hilarity where, inside the house or at the local park, she will zoom with a tennis ball or a toy, jump fully in the air, spin, sprint, come to a sliding stop and do it all over again, so she's definitely not at the bottom of her energy tank most days.

The reason I'm asking is because I have read a lot on this sub about bad joints/hips, and have read a lot about what feel to me like early age of passing, lots of 7, 8, 10 year old passing away, very few Rotties in their teens. We don't want our walks to accelerate damage to her joints, but we also don't want disuse to speed things either!

What's the sense of the sub on the best amount for daily walks for an older, but still very fit, beauty like our Sadie?
